Greg Merten received his degree in Electrical Engineering from OSU. After graduation, he joined Fairchild Semiconductor in California and in 1972 moved to Hewlett-Packard to become a product line manager for microwave diodes, rising to Manufacturing Manager of the Division in 1975. In 1981, Greg was able to return to Corvallis with Hewlett-Packard where he has become the Vice President and General Manager of the Inkjet Cartridge Operations, managing sites in Corvallis, San Diego, Boise, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and Ireland. In this role, he has led a very large worldwide organization that has grown from about 75 people in 1984 to nearly 10,000 today. He is the holder of one patent. He has worked to strengthen our community through his church, leadership in the Boy Scouts of America, and as a coach and referee for the American Youth Soccer Organization. He is currently on the Board of the Children's Farm Home and has served on an ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Legislative Task Force.
